Science	Physics: In the past week, we learned about various simple machines like inclined planes, wheels and axles through an activity ‘Humans vs automobile’. In the activity, we learned how to calculate the efficiency of a given machine or a process. We understood the importance of these simple machines not only for us but also for the differently abled people. We concluded our topic ‘work done’ by performing an investigation on the inclined planes which was our formative. By: Tavanya Seth MYP 2B Chemistry : We learned the diagrammatic representation of ionic and covalent compounds. We did an activity in which we were given cutouts of elements with their respective valence electrons and were asked to make ionic compounds accordingly. This activity gave us more clarity about valence electrons of various elements and their chemical bonding. We discussed the homework and did the requiredcorrections. We had our formative assessment this week which was a quiz. By: Aashray Aggarwal MYP 2B Biology : We learned about the basic structure of DNA. Individual and societies	Over the past two weeks, we have been working on creating a Power Point Presentation based on the Global issues related to violation of human rights such as, Refugee Crisis, Human Trafficking, Child Labour and Women’s Rights Violation. We were divided into groups to explore these issues and introduce them, discuss the causes, impact and suggest solutions to solve these issues and to create a slogan to raise awareness about these issues. This activity helped us to learn Research skills as we were focusing on various case studies available on the internet and the collaboration skills too, as we worked together in groups. Drama	We worked on creating and performing advertisements on various products used in our daily life. In our respective groups, we chose a specific product and brainstormed about the story around it. We created small jingles as part of our ads. We documented the process in our process journals. By: Udaiveer MYP2B
Maths	In the last two weeks, we completed our summative assessment of the first unit, we moved onto our second unit ‘Ratio and Rate of change’. We discussed the unit details and explored key concept, related concept, global context and inquiry questions . In this unit, we learned ratios and understood the concept of exchange rates and its importance. We learned about equivalent ratios and practiced questions based on them. By: Devika Malhotra MYP 2B
Product Design	The past two weeks have been exciting as we have gained a lot of knowledge about interior design through research in criterion A. We finished our presentation on Criterion A, and received feedback on our work. We incorporated the feedback and submitted our work for final grades. Digital Design	In Digital Design, we have finished Criterion A and have started working on Criterion B for the unit ‘identities in developing global societies’. We were asked to make a rough draft on the ‘storyboard that’ on stop motion animation and to create a design outline. We wrote the design specification of what we want in terms of aesthetics and function for the targeted audience or client. We also mentioned our success criteria for each design specification, furthermore, we annotated some ideas for our animations By: Kesvi Monga MYP 2D
Music	We are done with our presentations on different African instruments. This assessment enhanced our research and communication skills, and has greatly increased our knowledge of different instruments, their history and the way they produce sound. We also had a few drum circle rounds, through which we practiced different calls and responses using the bass, tone and slap sounds on the djembe. Later, we were also informed about our next assessment in which we had to create our instrument. We were shown two examples of how to use different material to create instruments with unique sounds. We were also provided with some guiding questions to help us analyze the sound of the instrument. We have been asked to demonstrate the application of our skill by playing it in the class. Language acquisition	French In the last two weeks, we did role play wherein, we had to enact an action for the other team to guess in French. It was an interesting activity to brush up our skills, revise the vocabulary and learn new words before the formative assessment of Criterion B, In addition to this, we learned how to write a blog by listing down our leisure activities, using the connectors and the newly acquired verbs. We then appeared for our second formative assessment based on Criteria C and D. We are also learning how to make slogans and captions. In all these activities we have incorporated the concept of sustainable development goals. Then we also had group discussions of our daily life and what we all do on weekends and weekdays. This helped us understand our unit ‘Weekend and leisure activities. We read a poem and answered the questions that followed. We also had a debate on the topic ‘Do we need weekends to remain happy’. We also learned letter writing and types of letter. We watched a video to learn how to format a blog post and its characteristics. We were given several worksheets to practice grammar related to leisure activities.We read a written and a visual text to practice criterion B for our formative assessment. We also appeared for our formative assessment based on Criterion B. A listening activity was conducted, wherein we had to answer questions based on the spoken text in the audio. In the duration of the past two weeks, two formative assessments have been conducted ,the first one was a reading assessment, while the second assessment focused on Criteria C & D, it was an engaging activity where we presented a storyboard based on the description of our weekends. Language and literature	Over the last two weeks, we read different text types; Literary and non-literary wherein we revised stylistic devices in a poem to understand how a writer uses literary devices to produce a special effect in their writing. We learned to compare and contrast two text types and analyzed an infographic and a literary text related to the theme of sustainability to promote the idea of a sustainable travel. Math	In the last two weeks, we learned about infographics and how to make them on paper and online using different infographic sites.We also started with our formative assessment for which we went to the library and researched a global issue affecting the world . We made Power point presentations on the data collected and converted them into an infographic. Now we have to present our presentations in the class for peer evaluation. We also learned how the graphs can be misleading and what all points should be kept in the mind while analyzing a graph. By: Aadil Kapoor MYP 2B
Language andLiterature	This week we started with blog writing wherein we read blogs on sustainability, which was followed by a discussion on how many countries in their own way are contributing to sustainable living.We further delved into how blogs can be used to create awareness and to promote the ideas for sustainable living. Individuals & Societies	In the past few weeks, we learned about the refugee crisis. Then we were assigned groups to research various case studies of refugee crises. It was an interesting way togain knowledge about the issues our world is facing currently. We learned about people’s experiences and their struggles in a refugee camp. We shared our learning through debates or MUN. It was a very unique experience. We gave our speeches and learned a lot from each other.
Science	Chemistry: This week we worked out valence electrons of the elements in each group of one specified period of the periodic table and identified the trend and correlation of the same. We worked out which element would lose, or gain electron based on the information of valence electrons. We did an activity where we made ionic bonds and subsequently ionic compounds with the cut-outs of different elements depicting their valence electrons. We also learned the diagrammatic representation of ionic compounds. By: Abeer Bagga MYP 2A Biology:We learned about three types of graphic organizers and strategies to write notes in an interesting manner. These strategies were ‘One Word Robin’ and ‘Think, pair, write and share’. We were also introduced to a new graphic organizer called ‘Clouds and Drops’. This was followed by an activity wherein we were assigned a page each and we had to pick our own title and key points from the textbook. We learned a strategy called ‘Writing Explanations’ in which we analyzed the handout on natural selection and evolution. We learned about Darwin’s Theory of Natural Selection and recapped what we learned using the ‘Test Your Memory’ strategy. This helped us develop our thinking and reflection skills. We did an activity named ‘broken down car’ through which we understood the concept of mechanical advantage and how we calculate it. We learned about the simple machine levers and how the fulcrum influences its mechanical advantage. Product Design	In the past two weeks, we researched Minimalistic Design, the role of Colour Theory and 2D layouts in a design . We started our presentation on Criterion A and framed the design problem and research questions. Following that, we discussed strand iii and iv and further worked on our presentation. Digital Design	This week we worked on the existing product research for the unit ‘Identities of developing global societies’. We also researched on props that we would be including in our animation. Language Acquisition	French: Over the last two weeks, we learned about weekend and leisure activities. We worked on task sheets based on activities wherein we had to write in French. In addition to this, we learned different expressions to describe our preferences. We also learned how to construct a question in French or how to answer a question. Later in the week we were given a task to frame questions in different forms (intonation, est-ce que and inversion). By- Raj Levi MYP 2C Hindi:Last week we did many dictations in the form of paragraphs and spellings so we could enhance our writing skills and spellings. Then we had group discussions on our daily life and what we all do on weekends and weekdays. This helped us to understand our unit better which is ‘Weekend and leisure activities’. We read a poem and answered the questions that followed. We also had a debate on an interesting topic ‘Do we need weekends to remain happy’, all the students shared their understanding on this topic. This week, we started with letter writing and the three types of letters. By:Armaan Mittal MYP 2 C Capable:Over the last two weeks, we moved onto the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)adopted by the United Nations. Each one of us prepared a PPT on our assigned SDG, for our first formative assessment. We were each assigned one of the SDG’s from SDG 1 to SDG 7. This was for the first time that we made and presented a presentation. It was challenging for us as it was hard to type in Hindi, using Google Input and finding videos, statistics and pictures. The vocabulary was also another challenge for us. We have started presenting our PPTs, and we look forward to doing more presentations like these. Physical and Health Education (PHE)	We practiced a variety of drills specific to the selected role in cricket.We were also shown a variety of game scenarios to show the various positions and how roles and teams function in batting, bowling and fielding.Furthermore, we learned the basic grip-bowling from the coil position to introduce the bowling action to the beginners.
Drama	We played theatre games related to concentration and focus in pairs, one person was a leader and the other was the follower. We worked on developing our communication skills. We started improvising on the idea of breaking the ‘Fourth wall’ in theatre; how it is done and implemented. By: MYP 2A Rudra Jolly
Music	We are following a flipped classroom approach for the ongoing formative assessment in music. For this assessment, we were required to choose an African instrument and conduct research on its origin, purpose, appearance, sound, etc. Then we were asked to present our research in the class and resolve any queries that our peers had. To test if they understood the findings, we also had to ask them any three questions based on the information given out in the presentation. Science	Chemistry: In the last week, we did an activity wherein we worked in pairs to select different elements, researched on the basic information like symbol, an atomic mass, atomic number of a chosen element and also worked out the number of protons, electrons and neutrons using the specific information. We compared the physical properties of metals and non-metals with the help of examples. We prepared self-notes and learned more about metalloids. Language Acquisition	French: Over the last two weeks, we unpacked the unit, discussed the inquiry questions and created a statement of Inquiry after brainstorming in groups. We were then introduced to the unit with a fun activity, wherein we asked three classmates about their weekend activities and listed them in our notebooks. This helped us collaborate with our classmates andknow thenames of activities in French. Following this, we learned some new French verbs related to the unit. We had a few dictations to recap and improve our spellings. We discussed the command terms and understood them. By:Tavanya Seth MYP 2B Capable:Our first task in the unit “दुनियाकीफिक्र” was very interesting as we wrote various things that would make our world and country the best. These tasks were very interesting as we got to know about the various aspects that our world lacks. We also integrated our subject with technology like Hindi typing on an English keyboard.We started various apps in Microsoft like Microsoft Forms and Teams. Forms are used to first read an essay than answer the questions. Later, we started using Microsoft Teams which is really helpful we as a class could work online.We hope that we continue with this technological integration. Spanish: Phase 1:We started the unit ‘My free time’ and worked on the concept map of the unit, discussed the inquiry questions in class, and formed a statement of inquiry. We were introduced to the vocabulary related to the unit and appeared in a vocabulary test. We discussed the recreational and leisure activities, learned colloquial expressions, and were also given a text to read and comprehend the leisure activities of teenagers in Hispanic countries. We also integrated technology by creating a story using a web tool ‘Storyboard That’ and appeared for our formative assessment based on Criteria C & D spoken. Visual Art	We learned how to draw the interior of a room using a one-point perspective. The presentation on Surrealism gave us ideas, how we could add Surrealistic elements and use our creativity to create our masterpiece. By: Khayatee Lath MYP2C
Drama	We worked in groups to enhance our understanding of the Key concept, Related concept and Global context. We explored and developed a statement of inquiry for the unit. We engaged in‘follow the leader activity’ to focus on our communication skills as we had to infer the instructions given to us by the leader and express it through gestures.
Music	We discussed the learning outcomes of the current unit. We learned about the geography, countries, landscapes and people of Africa. We explored Djembe techniques, formed a circle and started drumming together on the patterns guided by the teacher. Through this activity, we learned about three different sounds that were produced by hitting the drum at different places, namely Bass, Tone and Slap. By:Ayushman Puri MYP2B

After learning the theory of different scales and clefs, we practiced it by playing different tonalities on keyboard. We are learning how to play major and minor scales on the keyboard using right finger patterns. With continuous practice, we will have a thorough understanding of the tones/sounds of different types of scales as each one has a distinct character and expression. We were explained our next formative and summative assessments in which we would use these scales to create our own melodies. Language andLiterature	Over the last two weeks we read the story ‘The Bet’ by Anton Chekhov and focused on the theme of the story. We discussed the theme elaborately with the aim to draw two opposing views. Applying these views in the context of capital punishment versus life imprisonment, we discussed the structure of article writing. We also appeared for our formative assessment. Individuals & Societies	In the past two weeks we learnt about the elements of natural disasters such as earthquakes and volcanoes . We watched videos and made notes on the interior structure of a volcano,types of volcanoes, and the impact of its eruptions. Science	Chemistry: In the last two weeks we learned to differentiate between elements, compounds and mixtures by looking at various samples. We categorized the samples. We also learnt about homogenous and heterogeneous mixtures and attempted a task sheet on the same. We also discussed the elements and compounds that are present in the humanbody. Language Acquisition	French: In the past two weeks we covered the lexical content related to the facilities in a town, commercial activities and prepositions of position. We accessed variousFrench resources such as tricolore 1and French audio-visual sites. We also watched authentic francophone videos to understand the cultural patterns,notice the change in accents of people residing in African countries and speak French as their official language.We alsohad a class discussion on the same and did various activities to map our learning with the unit. Spanish Phase 1: e started ourspanish classes with various activities that focused on enhancing our listening skills. Through this activity we understood the format and conjugation of Spanish terms and added new words to our vocabulary. We also learned prepositions of place and used them to locate the various places in our town.We also attempted our formative assessment. We also appeared for formative assessment.
Visual Art	Over the last two weeks we wereintroduced to the elements of Art and the principles of design. We learned how artists use colour, form, shape, texture, balance, rhythm and point of emphasis to create anartwork . We also learned the rule of thirds and how it is used in creating a good composition. We learned how to draw landscapes using one-point perspective. We used mind maps to plan our landscape composition and have started developing our own layouts.
Physical and Health Education (PHE)	We continued with our first unit in martial arts. We learned different karate kicks and practiced them. We also had a demo session for the same . We did self-body weight exercises to gain muscle strength. By:SuryaanshMYP 2A
Drama	We continued working on our 3D set design using recycled material. We alsodiscussed the presentation aspect of our set designs. Furthermore, we explored various stories creatively through the medium of set design.
Music	We attempted summative assessment on the derivation of major and minor scales using formulas and also marked the pitches of those scales on the staff. Math	In the past few weeks we practised order of operation for integers and fractions. We learnt the application of directed numbers and practised word problems based on them. We were introduced to coordinate planes, its discovery and application. By: Shalin ThusuMYP 2B
Language andLiterature	Over the past two weeks we were familiarized with internal monologue. We chose characters from our text ‘The Chameleon’ and discussed them in detail. We also delved into the characters with perceptive exploration, citing evidence from the text. Individuals & Societies	In the past few weeks we covered two main topics. The first topic was layers of the earth in which we gained a deeperunderstanding about the nature of Crust, Asthenosphere, Lower Mantle, Outer core and the Inner core through a YouTube video. Our next topic was ‘Tectonic Plates’ in which we named all the plates on a map displayed on the smartboard. Next we identified them as oceanic and continental plates. Science	Chemistry:In the last two weeks we have been working to get a basic understanding of our concepts required in the forthcoming unit. After being introduced to the unit and its details, we learnt the essential facts under the broad heading of pure and impure substances. Welearnt how to differentiate between them. Towards the end of the week we also gained an understanding of physical and chemical changes through some demonstrations. We referred to the textbook, prepared notes and summarized our understanding. We also referred to the handout on digestive organs and their functions. Towards the end of this week we also prepared a poster on the sameas a part of our formative assessment. Product Design	After our meeting with theclients ; Grade 4 Teachers, we discussed how different products could help children make productive use of their time in the classroom.After sharing different ideas and critically evaluating them, we realised puzzles are a very good solution to our design problem.Using coggle.it we made mind maps and organised the information. Language Acquisition	French: We have started the first unit of this academic year ‘In and around town’. We designed key concept, related concept, global context and statement of inquiry for the unit .We alsohad a discussion on the inquiry questions. With regard to the content and concepts to be covered in this unitwe watched interactive videos for recapitulating vocabulary of places in the city. We developed lexical content by working on grammatical structures that adhere to the unit such as contracted articles with the verb ‘aller- to go’ and preposition à. We did many exercises related to this topic and strengthened our grasp on complex grammatical structures. Hindi: Phase : Emergent: In this week we started our new unit.We discussedour city, effects of pollution and what we can do to keep the environment clean. Furthermore, we made sentences and discussed them in class. By: Tavanya Seth MYP 2B Capable: We had discussion on physical and mental health and how it affects our daily routine, work performances and our future. We also had a poemreading and analysis session in our class for Hindi Diwas. Zoya Gupta (MYP2 C Spanish: Phase 1: This week we watched an educational video about a city called Ponferrada in Spain. This helped us to explore more vocabulary related to the historical monuments and various places in the city. We were introduced to prepositions of directions and place and verbs that are used fordirections We were given a task to design the map of an imaginary city using directions .This task helped us to enhance our thinking and social skills. By: Rabani MYP 2C Spanish: Phase II: Our first two weeks focussed on recapitulation of concepts done in ourprevious grade. We started our first unit ‘La Ciudad y sus alredadores’ (In and around town) with a discussion on ‘what we know, what we want to know and what questions we have’ in a combined class with phase 1. Next, we noted down the unit specifications. We also performed an activity on ‘Mi Ciudad Ideal’. Furthermore , we were introduced to the topic ‘Los problemas de la ciudad’ (The problems in my city). Visual Art	In the last two weeks we discussed’Art movements’ and understood how different art styles emerged in the history of art and how they are related to the social, political and cultural situation of that time. We discussed at length ‘Pointillism and Pop Art’ as our unit focuses on these two movements. We practised creating small drawings using pointillism technique. Since our outcome would be landscape we started with a basic understanding of composition and elements of Art. We were also introduced to one point perspective and we followed a video to understand and create a landscape with a vanishing point. By: Nimisha Rangarajan (MYP 2)
Physical and Health Education (PHE)	We continued with our first unit in martial arts. We learnt different types of punches used in karate and practised them. We also practised stretching exercises to increase the flexibility component. By: Misheka Bhagat 2C
Drama	Over the past two weeks we have been working on our FA project. Our task was to create a sustainable modelstageof stories such as ‘Lion and the Hare’, ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ etc. This project helped us to communicate with each otheras we brainstormed our ideas together. Music	This week we learnt to express ourselves artistically with our instrument. We memorized our scales and revised the formulas used to derive major and minor scales and also marked the pitches of those scales on the staff. We also did some exercises to identify the tonality -major and minor on the staff by using the website www.musictheory.net

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
